Six Back to Netball teams from Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas got together for a fantastic evening of netball at The Astley Cooper School, with support from Herts County Netball Association chairman Janice Cook and Gemma Roake from the Get Set Go Dacorum project.

After 15 closely fought matches, the winners’ medals were awarded to Berko Belles 1 who battled for the top spot against close contenders and runners-up Tringtastics.

The event was organised by Lucy Ponting from England Netball, who develops Back to Netball activity in the county. Lucy said: “It was great to see so many ladies joining in and clearly loving the sport.

“I would like to thank all the players, as well as the volunteers who helped umpire, score and time-keep, for making the event such a success.”

Back to Netball provides a gentle re-introduction to the sport, and is a great way to stay active, lose weight, make friends and have fun. For information about Back to Netball, please visit www.englandnetball.co.uk or see @B2NHerts
