Junior golfers come to the fore at Little Hay

The Little Hay Golf Club juniors played their last competitions of the season over half-term as the campaign came to an exciting climax.

In their Stableford competition, Will Butler scored 41 points to win by one point from Luke Wrathall, with Emma Shepherd third with 38 points.

In the Junior Medal on a very wet Wednesday, some amazing golf saw Jake Conroy win with net 64, followed by Butler and Shepherd on net 65.

At the prizegiving afterwards, the Junior Order of Merit for the best player over the whole season was won by 14-year-old Shepherd, who received her trophy from Little Hay Golf Club president Ralph Lane.

In the ladies’ section, Dawn Rose won the Founders Cup, a bogey/par competition, with a score of 2up.

Chris Marsden came second with a score of 1up and Caroline Banks was third with all square. A field of 23 ladies competed in the event.

The results of the Men’s November Medal were: Division 1 - 1st Paul Whiter (62); 2nd Andy Lerpiniere (65); 3rd Sam Deering (68). Division 2 - 1st James Wallace (69), 2nd Jerry Clarke (74), 3rd Phil Joslin (75).
