Jack the lad fires Storm to big victory over Vale with record-breaking display
The unbeaten youth side simply flew at their opponents from the start, combining free-flowing attacks with gritty man-to-man defence.
Two three-pointers by Burnell got the lead out to 12-5 after four minutes and two more long shots gave him an impressive 16 points in the first quarter as Storm boasted a 38-15 lead after just 10 minutes’ play.

Hide AdThings didn’t change much in the second quarter and, although Vale got a few points back, it was Burnell who once again took things into his own hands with a dunk from a fast break along with yet another three to lead his side to a huge half-time lead at 60-28.
Storm’s Nick Allin took over in the third quarter and rattled in 13 points to Burnell’s eight.
With good contributions also coming from Gus Rees and 15-year-old David Savin, the home team’s lead was an enormous 45 points at 89-44 with one period left.
The final quarter was just as painful for the visitors as Storm’s twin terrors Burnell and Allin piled in six three-pointers between them.
With Lewis Beardsworth notching two more of his own it was a mightily relieved Vale side that headed for the dressing room with the score reading 123-60 in Hemel Storm’s favour.
