Hot-shot Hannah on track for the Herts Grand Slam

Hannah Screen won the Hertfordshire County Ladies' Golf Championship 2015

It was a very long weekend consisting of six rounds of golf - with about 22 miles of walking and more than 21 hours spent on the course.

On Friday, 15-year-old Hannah played two strokeplay rounds and ending on 155 to win best nett score and finish second overall.

The top-16 then went into the knockout matchplay stages. Winning her qualifying matches, 2-up, 4&3 and 4&3, Hannah reached the final to set up a showdown with Friday’s lowest scoring qualifier; Charlie Field of Letchworth GC.

Despite Charlie going 2-up in the first three holes, Hannah fought back to get to level by the 13th hole.

The last 5 holes were very tense, with both players trading pars, before Hannah emerged victorious on thepPar-5 18th when Charlie missed a four-foot putt that would have sent the match onwards down the 19th hole.

With the Herts Girls Championship taking place at the end of the month, Hannah has the chance of completing a ‘Grand Slam’ by claiming all four female county majors in 2015.
