Dom Ashwell won the 60m in a new PB time of 6.87s, setting a new outright club record in the process.

He also ran the fastest time in the UK this year so far for U17s – and his time was the fastest for the age group since 2010, when David Bolarinwa ran 6.81s at the U17 national championships, and went on to win gold in the European Junior Championships the following year.

Recently, Dom was picked for the bobsleigh squad for the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, and recently competed in his first international race, finishing ninth and having the fastest start of all the competitors.

Chenna Okoh, meanwhile, won the 400m at the SEAA event in a new personal best time of 50.95s, also a new club record for the distance – both indoor and outdoor.

In only his first year in the age group, Chenna won both qualifying rounds before winning the final at Lee Valley. His previous 400m best, set in 2013, was 51.37s, and his time betters the U17 D&T club record by over half a second.

D&T sprint coach Gavin Town praised the boys’ efforts, saying their results were “fantastic.”
