The future is bright for rugby at Hemel Hempstead Camelot
The floodlights cost in the region of £50,000. Around £40,000 of this was met by the English RFU – with the remainder being raised by the club.
The official opening was attended by Mayor Alan Lawson and his wife, as well as some 300 club members and members of public. Camelot thanked Jason Bowers from the RFU for his support over the last two years to secure the money.

Hide AdThe match which was opened by the official switching on, followed by the Camelot youth teams performing a tunnel of honour for the players.
Hemel Hemstead ran out comfortable 31-7 winners and the evening was illuminated under the new lights.
The club hopes to have a number of events staged under the lights, including a school rugby tournament in the next few weeks.
Honorary club chairman Toni Massa said: “This is a wonderful addition to an ever expanding club and hopefully other sports will be able to use this new facility also.”
