Much Stronger Together FC is a collaboration of many community groups in Dacorum and is supported by Sports England and National Lottery funding.

The programme is aimed at over 14s and looks to bring young people together from various communities to train and eventually go on to play in football teams in a competitive but social environment.

The first training sessions takes place at Sportspace Longdean from 8pm to 9pm on Wednesday and then also on Sunday, October 12 at Coronation Fields in Bennetts End from 12pm to 1pm.

Motivation to launch the programme has come from previous years’ Kick It Out events and, with the new Get Set, Go Dacorum funding, the project is now rolled out with a long term vision.

Lead coach for the project, Simon Blundell said: “It is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the community to take part in a team environment; the training will be for all skill levels from beginner to advanced, and hopefully we will be able to start to put a team together for the Herts FA Futsal league.

“Long term we hope to also have a team for the new Hertfordshire FA U21 League.

“Previously we have seen the need to develop football sessions as part of the Kick It Out project and this is an extension of that programme with a long term vision of structured, regular and organised coaching.”
