Tudors have the last laugh as Brennan slams '˜disrespectful' Havant

Hemel’s win put an end to a seven-game losing run, with MK Dons loanee Harry Hickford pouncing deep into stoppage time as the Tudors completed a league double over the Hawks.

Clearly riled by some of Havant’s pre-match comments, Brennan said: “I was confident going into the game, even though I saw a few comments from their side before the game saying that it was a good time to play Hemel.

“Maybe they let their guard down a bit and didn’t show us the respect they should have. I thought we were the better side throughout the game, and in the end I felt that they were sore losers.

“We worked harder than them throughout the 90 minutes, we kept believing in ourselves and I think that we deserved the win.

“I was very pleased with the performance and I have no qualms about saying that the better team won on the day. They might think otherwise, but that’s up to them.”

Brennan felt his side got their tactics spot on, and praised his side for their desire to win the game.

“We nullified their danger man, Scott Donnelly, who I think is one of the best players in the division, if not the best. He only had one shot all game.

“We did what we are good at, which is getting in people’s faces, working hard, playing at a high tempo, and creating good openings.

“I think they had more money on the bench than I had on the pitch. It’s some achievement for little old Hemel to be going and beating Havant home and away. It’s great for everybody at the football club.

Brennan added: “This is a very competitive division, and the fact that we haven’t been involved in a relegation battle is an absolutely unbelievable achievement from everybody at this football club.”
