Jordan Frederick, Josh Chamberlain and BJ Christie got the goals for Berko to send Mick Vipond’s side two points clear of second placed Harefield United.

Frederick put Berko in front in the 14th minute with a shot from 15 yards that took a deflection on its way past Sam Styles in the Cockfosters goal.

Carl Tasker had to be at his best to tip a header over the bar at the other end, but the Berko keeper was powerless to prevent Adam Ali from slotting home to level the scores in the 25th minute.

Berko had chances to regain the lead before half-time, but Ed Canham and Adiel Mannion were unable to convert and the teams went in all square.

Early in the second half, Chamberlain won a penalty, but was injured in the challenge and was not allowed back on the pitch to take the spot kick.

Frederick took it instead, but Styles dived to his right to keep the scores level.

The second goal finally arrived in the 76th minute tas Chamberlain skipped past a few challenges before hitting a low shot past Styles from the edge of the penalty box.

Christie went on the charge before his eventual shot was blocked, but he did get on the scoresheet when Mannion sent him clear in the box and he shrugged off a challenge before shooting Berko’s third goal late in the game.
