Preview: Tudors looking to bounce back against '˜underachieving' Whitehawk

The game could be a pivotal one as both teams still have a chance of reaching the playoffs, with a victory potentially thrusting them right back into the race for a top-five spot.

Following their 6-0 thrashing at Ebbsfleet on Saturday, Hemel currently sit eighth in the table, five points behind fifth-placed Gosport Borough, with two games in hand.

Whitehawk occupy 14th position, but they have four games in hand on Gosport and won’t have given up their hopes of reaching the playoffs just yet.

Looking ahead to the game, Hemel manager Dean Brennan said: “It will be a tough game but one where we will hopefully be able to get it tactically right.

“We go into the game with the intention of not getting beaten. They have got two fantastic centre-forwards who could walk into any team in this division.

“They have got numerous excellent players with a lot of league experience, and they are underachieving.

“They are good side and we are expecting a really, really tough game. It’s as big a game for them as it is for us because they still have aspirations of reaching the playoffs, and rightly so.

“They should be in the title race with the financial might that they have and the amount of money that they have.”

Hemel will be without James Potton, Ollie Thorne, Kyle Connolly and Ed Asafu-Adjaye for tonight’s game, while Jack Kelly remains doubtful with a groin injury.

“Our injury list just keeps going on but we are continuing to try and sign players so there will probably be more debuts,” added Brennan.

“It’s on to this one and see how it goes. At the end of the day our season won’t be decided on this one game because there are still a lot of games and a lot of points to play for.

“There’s no pressure on the lads, the most important thing is that we don’t get beaten. We go into the game full of confidence – usually we go into games looking to win them, but tonight we will be looking to not get beaten.”
