Tring Athletic came away with a 2-2 draw from their trip to Broxbourne Borough last night despite creating enough good chances to have won the game.

Athletic were denied three times in the first half by some great saves from the home keeper and they carried on in the same vein after the restart.

The visitors were, therefore, a little shocked to go behind on the hour mark but bounced back with a terrific strike from Chris Stapleton five minutes later.

Another super shot from the in-form Lee Stobbs 10 minutes later put Tring in the driving seat.

The away side had chances to put the game to bed, but didn’t take them, and they paid the price two minutes from time when Boro equalised.

As a result of dropping the two points Tring slipped two places in the SSML Premier Division table to 10th.

On Saturday they are at home to Welwyn Garden City.
