Woodrow joins Harry Kane in England U21 squad
Former Luton Town striker Cauley Woodrow has been named in the England squad for the European Under-21 Championship.
The 20-year-old, who came through the ranks at Kenilworth Road, making three appearances before moving to Fulham in March 2011, has scored five times for the Cottagers this season.
Originally from Hemel, Woodrow joins the likes of Spurs forward Harry Kane, plus strikers Danny Ings (Burnley) and Saido Berahino (West Brom) named in Gareth Southgate’s 27-man squad for the tournament held in the Czech Republic.
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has been left out of the squad which will be reduced to 23 players for the tournament.
The Young Lions qualified for with an exemplary record, dropping two points and conceding just two goals in their qualifying group before beating Croatia 4-2 on aggregate in a play-off last October.
They play their first match in the tournament against Portugal on June 18 before taking on Sweden and Italy.
Southgate’s team will play a friendly against Belarus on June 11 in Barnsley before departing for the Czech Republic.
