Leverstock face London Colney test

Leverstock Green will be hoping to return to SSML Premier Division action on Saturday when they travel to London Colney.

Green were left kicking their heels last weekend when their home clash wi th Sun Sports was postponed due to the pitch being unplayable.

The match has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 17.

Green were due to play last night (Tues) when they went to Hertford Town in the Hertfordshire Charity Shield semi-final.

Green reserves did get a game in on Saturday and enjoyed a 2-1 win at Harefield United Reserves.

Levy won their second straight Suburban League game thanks to an excellent second-half comeback .

The home side took the lead on 23 minutesthrough Prince Alozie.

The management team of Dwaine Bryan and Derek Powell made changes at half time, and the equaliser came on 51 minutes when a corner from Lewis Craze was headed home by Jide Awonusi.

Green side were reduced to ten men soon after when Ricky Dash was shown a straight red card.

Green weren’t affected though, and on 67 minutes Bryan played a ball from the back to Awonusi who was hauled down by defender Benn Gordon when clean through.

The result was a penalty and red card for Gordon, with Awonusi scoring 
the spot kick to put Green 2-1 up.

Levy held on for the win, thanks to a great save from Jordan I’Anson from a deflected free kick on 78 minutes, and a superb goalline clearance in stoppage time from Charlie Price.
