Jamie’s picture with Chelsea striker Costa gets 99k online ‘likes’

Poorly Jamie Hodgson, who has congenital heart disease along with other complex health needs, was invited to the football club’s training ground to meet the sporting stars shortly after his 14th birthday in August.

And it was just as much of a treat for dad Eddie, of Tring, who just like his son is an avid Chelsea supporter.

Now a picture of Jamie posing with the goal scoring Costa, which was posted on the club’s picture account on Wednesday, has gained more than 99,000 likes in just two days.

Eddie said: “When I saw the picture on the Chelsea Instagram it had 5,000 likes and I thought ‘wow, great they’ve put it on there’, now with over 99,000 likes and heading for 100,000 I feel incredibly proud and think it is awesome.

“It has put a big smile on our faces as it was unexpected. Jamie is becoming quite a celebrity!”
