Hemel Town Youth U13 Reds battle through to the cup quarter-finals

Hemel battled hard for their spot in the next round, eventually overcoming Everett Rovers 3-2 with goals from Josh Mantle (2) and Freddie Redfern.

Elsewhere Hemel d Town Youth U15 White battled back in style to beat Bovingdon Panthers Red 8-4 in their Division One league clash.

Bovingdon took a 3-1 lead in at half-time, with Alex Rutland providing the only moment of cheer for Hemel.

However, the second half began well for Hemel and they reduced the arrears through man of the match Takula Chijota.

Bovvy hit back to regain their two-goal advantage, but Hemel weren’t to be denied and secured the win with further goals from Ryan Thorlby (2) and Chijota – with the latter ending the game with a five-goal haul.

Hemel Town Youth U15 Red also had that winning feeling as they edged past Comet Sports Cougars 2-1 to hold on to their position at the top of the WHYL Division Two table.

Hemel started brightly and Funsho Ajayi scored early using his strength and agility before finding the bottom corner of the net.

Despite missing a penalty, it was Comets who got the next goal with a well taken free-kick from 25 yards out.

It was Hemel who had the last laugh, though, when Ajayi was brought down in the box – allowing the hot-shot striker to dust himself off and dispatch the resulting penalty.

In U14 Division Three, Hemel Town Youth U14 Red beat Harpenden Colts Jaguars 2-1 with goals from Jack Eustace and Matt Heffers.

Round three of the U11 Challenge Cup saw Hemel Town Youth U11 Red beat Bovingdon Storm 3-1 thanks to two goals from Lewis Folds and one from Alfie Jennings.
