Classy Comets keep FA Sunday Cup dreams alive
Comets Sports Club booked their place in the second round of the FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup with a 4-1 win over AYFCS.

FC Intervino thumped Adeyfield 4-0 courtesy of efforts from Jake Hosier, Ben Derby, Lewis Day and Jake Stapleton, while Hemel Athletic won 3-1 at Marina Vale thanks to AJ Adzahoe, Steve Kilner and Lewis Coates.
The Midland beat Clarkwood 4-2 with goals from Marc How, Brad Willoughby, Jamie Evans and Tom Smith, and The Bull Athletic won 6-2 at Hatfield Seniors thanks to Mike Wilson (2), Paul McManus, Adam Hallissey, Craig Lenane and Alex Marshall.
Danny Allen (4), Justin Seymour, Kieran Lanchbury and Scott Vaughn earned an 8-1 win for AC Grapes at Landrovers, while Scott Carrington (4) and Tom Porter struck in Greenacres II’s 5-3 win against FC Fourteen.
It was not such good news for Robin Hood, Apsley Athletic, The Queens Head, Woodhall Wanderers, Potten End Sunday or Focus, however, as they were all knocked out of the competition.
In the BSFL Sunday Junior Cup first round, Old Bell Athletic beat Adeyfield Reserves 6-3 as Ryan Walsham (2), Sean Workman, Louis Bulled, Steve Clark and Lavvi Zgimbau all found the net.
AFC Saints beat Boxmoor 4-2 after extra-time thanks to Graham Aikman (2), Jamie Langley and Ed Bankole, while Echoes thrashed Gade 6-1 with goals from Ross Eddy (3), Paul Jackson, Dan Hughes and Clint Findley.

The BSFL Premier saw a huge 10-1 win for AFC Boars at Doves United as Curtis Donaldson (4), Lewis Cruwys (3), Jay Austin, Sonny French and Jeff Mensah ran riot.
Lee Butler’s goal was enough for Flaunden to beat Berko Tornadoes 1-0, and Park Rangers had Dave McKenzie and Ben Judge to thank for a 2-0 victory over Berko Athletic.
In Division Three, Berko Athletic Reserves beat Berko Tornadoes A 1-0, and Sporting Blackbrids thumped The Old Bellgate 5-1.
