‘Buzzing’ Allinson praises Tudors after Farnborough win

Lee Allinson once again paid tribute to his Hemel Hempstead Town players after a 3-2 win at Farnborough Town kept them firmly in the play-off picture.

The Tudors had to play much of the game with ten men after Kyran Wiltshire was shown a straight red card 35 minutes in and when Hemel were 1-0 up, but ultimately goals from Mauro Vilhete, Remaye Campbell and Darion Dowrich were enough to seal the points.

Hemel were then due to host Chippenham Town on Tuesday night, after this week’s Gazette had gone to press, before welcoming AFC Totton on Saturday.

But speaking to the club’s media after the Farnborough win, Allinson was beaming with pride.

He said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling because I thought today was the best we’ve been for a long time.

"I thought 11v10 there was only ever going to be one winner as I thought we ran all over them and were brilliant.

"We had runners. We worked really hard on Thursday on having runners and we’ve got an experienced team out there today.

"I’m buzzing because that was a top class performance from our boys and a big thank you to the crowd as well as it made a big difference, it was great to hear them singing and we need them more than ever.”

Allinson was also pleased to not only score three goals, but to have them come from different scorers.

He added: “I’ve never had a group that haven’t scored lots of goals Normally it’s the other way round – score loads and probably concede too many because I’m very attacking, but we worked on crosses into the box and have a forward there in Remaye Campbell that’s slightly different to Millar Matthews-Lewis in terms of putting his body there and making challenges and occupying people.

"Mauro’s finish was brilliant and Darion took a gamble and if you don’t shoot you don’t score and if you don’t cross you don’t score.”
