Berkhamsted left frustrated as the heavy rain hits fixture list hard

Waterlogged pitches put paid to all but one of the SSML Premier Division fixtures on Saturday, including Berkhamsted’s trip to Sun Sports.

That game has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 10, but weather permitting there is an important week ahead for the Comrades.

On Saturday, with Sun Sports in cup action, Berko could move back up to second in the league table if they beat Biggleswade United at Broadwater.

BJ Christie is ruled out with a jaw injury and Jordon Frederick remains suspended, but Berko boss Mick Vipond should otherwise have a full squad to pick from.

The following Tuesday, Berko visit Leverstock Green in the quarter-final of the Herts Senior Cup, and Frederick could return for that match.

Whichever Dacorum side wins the derby will achieve the rare feat of a step 5 side being through to the last-four of Hertfordshire’s most prestigious cup competition.

Elsewhere, Berkhamsted’s reserve game with Newport Pagnell was postponed on Saturday, so they hope to get back in action at Northwood in the Suburban North this Saturday.

The U18 Corinthian Division also resumes following the Christmas break, with Berko going to Tring Athletic on Wednesday, and then entertaining Leverstock Green a week later.
