Chances were at a premium at Broadwater but London Colney won the game with the only goal after 17 minutes, when a cross from the right of the penalty area hit Ed Canham on the chest and diverted past Carl Tasker in the Berko goal.

Soon afterwards, a fine run from Comrades winger Ashley Morrissey set up BJ Christie but his shot went past the far post, while visiting goalkeeper Jack Smith gobbled up any crosses that Berko managed to send over.

The home side were pressing hard for the equaliser at the end, so for the first time this season manager Mick Vipond did not use any substitutes.

Smith deflected a shot on to the post with about quarter of an hour left, and it proved to be the closest Berko got to a goal.

Josh Chamberlain also gave them a fright with a late shot after a neat build up involving Christie and Adiel Mannion.

Berko: 1 Tasker, 2 Massay, 3 Rodrigoe, 4 Baldry, 5 Canham, 6 Hawes, 7 Morrissey, 8 To, 9 Christie, 10 Mannion, 11 Chamberlain. Subs not used: Jowle, Barnes, Foster, Farrelly & Kelly.
