Allinson thrilled with win at Dover
Lee Allinson was proud of his Hemel Hempstead Town players as they sealed their third league win in a row last weekend.
Millar Matthews-Lewis scored twice to earn a 2-1 win at Dover Athletic and leave the Tudors fifth in the National League South standings.

And speaking to the club’s media after the game, Allinson felt it was a deserved three points.
He said: “It’s a fantastic three points first and foremost because this is a very tough place to come. The pitch is really poor and full credit to them for getting the game on because I didn’t think we’d be on today with the rain and the weather we’ve had, but obviously the pitch has taken a bit of a hammering.
"Dover’s front four are a serious handful and to come here and pick up a 2-1 win I’m absolutely delighted with it.
"We changed it up a little bit as we’ve got three or four injuries in the group so to come here and still produce that is a really pleasing effort.”
Hemel had two debutants in Oliver Davis and Jack Lorentzen-Jones, both of whom played a part in the opening goal just three minutes into the game.
Allinson said: “I thought it was two brilliant debuts. They both trained on Thursday and I thought everything Ollie Davis has shown there – that's him and he’s even better than that on a better pitch.
"He will be really pleasing for us and great on the eye. He’s got legs and energy.
"We took a bit of a gamble on Jack because he’s a footballer and obviously with the pitch, we felt like we need to see him in games like this because we can see him at home but it’s not a real reflection of this league, but I thought the pair of them were really good.”
Hemel were due back in action on Tuesday night in the Herts Charity Cup with a home tie against London Lions, after this week’s Gazette went to press.
On Saturday, they then host Slough Town who sit just outside the relegation zone.
