Elaine holds firm to clinch the NAPGC Ladies Championship of England

After battling through 18 holes of torrential rain, hail, thunder, lightning and strong winds, Little Hay’s Elaine Meagher has won the 2014 NAPGC Ladies Championship of England.

Elaine, handicap 7, won the prestigious NAPGC event at the Southern Valley Golf Club in Kent.

Completing 18 holes of strokeplay against 60 other ladies from around the country, Elaine recorded a gross score of 73 to win by six strokes over her nearest rival.

It was a dominant display throughout from Elaine, and she deservedly lifted the Roy Beckett & Peter Alliss Rose Bowl.

Elsewhere, Craig Walker walked away with the Little Hay Junior Stableford. With a score of 46 points he was five ahead of runner-up George Rocca.

Caroline Banks, meanwhile, won the Fressingwood Cup at Little Hay with a score of 37 points. Dorcas Kindinger was second with 36 and Jackie Joslyn was third with 34
