County success for D&T middle distance crew

Seven athletes from Dacorum & Tring's middle distance group represented Hertfordshire in the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Birmingham '“ the final and most important event in the 2015-16 season.

In his first year in the U15 boys’ race over 4,500m, Kristian Imroth (16:59) produced yet another outstanding performance to finish 49th out of 305 runners. Jamie Ayres (18:33) placed 220th in the same race.

In the U13 boys’ race over 3,000m, Freddie Truman-Williams (12:52) and Michael Armstrong (13:00) excelled themselves to finish 124th and 156th respectively in a field of 311 runners.

Running in these championships for the third year, Rhys Rowlands (22:01) bagged his best result to date, finishing 172nd out of 250 runners over 6,000m.

Not to be outdone by the boys, Grace Birdseye and Amy Cassidy exceeded all expectations in their debuts in these championships.

Grace (24:17) finished 185th out of 267 runners in the U17 women’s race over 5,000m, while Amy (14:25) finished 197th out of 304 runners in the U13 girls’ race over 3,000m.
