Cheetahs ready to pounce for fresh talent in Herts
The club are now seeking new players to try-out at a Rookie Day next Sunday – for players agad 18 and over – as well as on Sunday, November 16, for 11 to 19-year-olds ,at Hemel Stags’ Pennine Way ground.
Former Atlanta Falcons legendary kicker Mick Luckhurst is a Hertfordshire native, and the Cheetahs’ honorary life president.
He said: “As a St Albans boy my journey into the NFL started way back at grassroots in British American football so it gives me immense pleasure to have been chosen to be the honorary life president of the Hertfordshire Cheetahs who are based so close to my original stomping ground.”
When told of the club’s development, he continued: “It’s great to hear how the Cheetahs are building on their long heritage of football in the region with hundreds of members, multiple squads from the age of 11 up, and loads of qualified coaches.”
Club chairman Al Tepper addeded, “We’re delighted to consider Mick a part of our club and look forward to welcoming new fans, players, coaches and committee members to the Cheetah pride this season.”
