Harrow have averaged 50 points per game so far this season, conceding only 30 overall, while Camelot on the other hand have found it difficult to find any consistency in the opening stages of the campaign.

Things looked bleak for the Chaulden Lane side as Harrow began strongly and scored in the sixth minute with a converted try as Hemel failed to make their tackles in defence.

However, Camelot showed their resolve and levelled the scores five minutes later with a try by winger Danny Howard and conversion from fly-half Gavin Jakeman.

As the half progressed, the visitors showed why they are league leaders, scoring four converted tries and a penalty which remained unanswered until one minute before the interval when Hemel produced the try of the game.

At a Harrow defensive scrum, Dan Thomson took one against the head, the ball went down the short side to winger Nick Stowe, and Jakeman took a return pass to score on the left. The half ended with the Hemel 35-15 down.

In the second half Camelot started to believe that they can compete with teams in the top half of this league by scoring three tries to the visitors’ two.

Although they ran out losers, Hemel can take confidence from this performance into the next game away at Old Haberdashers on Saturday.

The club, meanwhile, will be holding its annual firework extravaganza on Saturday, November 8.

Gates open at 5pm and the cost for entry is £15 for a family ticket or £5 per person.
