Youth Parliament members announced

Young people in Hertfordshire have elected their Members of Youth Parliament.

Candidates set out their manifestos online and canvassed in schools, colleges and youth projects during December and January.

Voting took place in January and February.

The successful candidate to represent Dacorum is Nick Gardner, aged 16, from John F Kennedy School.

The top five priorities voted for by young people aged 11 to 18 are bullying, mental health and wellbeing, body confidence and self-image, equality and access to health services.

The Members of Youth Parliament will consult with young people across the county to find out their opinions on these issues and the changes they would like to see made.
