Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic coming-of-age story Treasure Island will be shown on Thursday January 22nd at 7pm.

The story of murder, money and mutiny is brought to life on the Olivier stage in a thrilling new adaptation by Bryony Lavery.

It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s grandchild, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and a dangerous voyage begins.

Lavery’s wonderful adaption offers an exhibition of comedy, charm and visual spectacle. Join Jim on this epic journey in pursuit of adventure and treasure. Lizzy Clachan’s sets are a wonder to behold and make perfect use of the Olivier’s facilities.

Umberto Giordano’s revered masterpiece Andrea Chenier will be screened at Hemel’s Empire cinema on THursday January 29 at 7.15pm and on Sunday February 1 at 2pm. Conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by David McVicar (Rigoletto, Les Troyens), this fictionalised account of the last few years of Andrew Chenier’s life makes its first appearance at the Royal Opera House since 1985. Kaufmann stars as the lauded French poet in this tragic tale of love, betrayal and jealousy.
