Every year since 2009, every county councillor has been allocated £10,000 to spend on worthwhile community projects within their areas. Around 6,500 projects have benefitted from cash grants.

Councillor Teresa Heritage, who oversees public health, localism and libraries, said: “Locality budgets have been a huge success, both in terms of providing funding boosts for worthwhile causes and helping members forge even stronger links with our communities.”
