There’s a new Sheriff in town

Dacorum Borough Council welcomed a special guest of honour to the borough when the High Sheriff of Herts toured a number of businesses on the invitation of the mayor.

High Sheriff, Mr Fergus McMullen, was hosted and accompanied by the Civic Party comprising of the Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Allan and Mrs Wendy Lawson, Sally Marshall, the chief executive at Dacorum Borough Council, deputy mayor Cllr Gbola Adeleke and deputy lieutenant of HertsDerek Townsend.

During his time in the borough, the High Sheriff was not only given an insight into the work and development of Council but it also underlined its partnership with local organisations.

The all-day visit started with a tour of FFEi Ltd’s £2m state-of-the-art facility ‘The Cube’ based in the Maylands Business Park.

The tour continued with visits to Adeyfield Community Centre and Apsley Paper Trail. Mr McMullen was also able to first-hand the work that Druglink delivers to assist and support individuals, family members and the general community affected by substance misuse.

Mr McMullen said: “The borough of Dacorum, in one word, “fantastic”. The variety of what I saw, who I met and what I learnt about was simply amazing.”
