Teenager hospitalised after robbery

A teenager boy was badly injured following a robbery in the early hours of this morning.

The 16-year-old victim was found by a member of the public at a bus stop on St Peter’s Street, St Albans, between 2-2.35am, near to the doctor’s surgery.

His mobile phone had been stolen and he was taken to hospital with cuts and bruising to his head and face.

The boy is still in hospital although his condition is improving.

Detective Sergeant Katy Jackson said: “We are trying to establish exactly what has happened to this young man and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non‐emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number F1/16/2386.
