Small shops! Your MP wants you for parliamentary competition

Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning is calling for Dacorum’s small shops to gain national recognition through a Whitehall-run contest.

Mr Penning hopes many little businesses in his constituency – and the wider borough – will enter the all-party Parliamentary Best Small Shops Competition ending next month.

Mike Penning said:“This is a great opportunity for small shops in Dacorum to get recognition for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and creating jobs all year round.

“We have some excellent small shops locally and I would encourage them to take part in this competition.”

Small shops can submit their application to the competition online at www.bestsmallshops.uk setting out in no more than 500 words why they are the best small shops including.

Categories the businesses will be judged on includeinnovation in your business, community engagement and entrepreneurial activity.

All shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Parliamentary Reception where the winner will be announced on February 25.
