He said: “We’ve created 13 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Berkhamsted area.

“Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.

“Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”

Tradesmen and DIYers are all invited to attend branch opening on February 25, where they can demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw-drilling competition.

The person with the fastest time wins a 40in smart TV.

To celebrate the launch, all product ranges will have a 10 per cent discount from February 25-28.

Mark believes that the store’s convenient location and the click and collect service within just five minutes of ordering will be a real bonus to local tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts.

He said: “I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here in Berkhamsted. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.”

The Berkhamsted branch is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 8pm, from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
