And if you see some, you’re more than welcome to take them home - that’s the message from the town’s flower club.

The Berkhamsted Flower Club is among hundreds of flower clubs across the UK taking part in National Flower Arranging Day and to mark this bunches of flowers will be placed around the town.

Club member Heather Houston said: “We want to make people feel good and also advertise the flower club.

“We did this last year and it went well and because it was a success we are doing it again.

“Some people were a bit bemused last year seeing flowers left randomly but our message is that if you find the flowers you are more than welcome to take them home.

“All the bouquets you will see will be arranged by hand by our members.”

The flower club which is a member of NAFAS (The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies), who are organising the nationwide day, will be placing flowers on park benches and in shop doorsteps and at well-known landmarks and surprise locations.

The club which has been going just over 50 years meets at the Berhamsted Cricket Club in Castle Hill on the second Wednesday of each month from 2-4pm, apart from May when they have an outing to Savill Gardens.
