Royal Mail exceeds targets for HP postcode area

Royal Mail has delivered a target-beating performance in the HP postcode area in the last quarter of the year, though 5.9% of First Class mail failed to reach its destination the day after posting.

Figures for April to September of this year show 94.1%of First Class mail was delivered on time, which is reportedly ahead of its national quality targets.

The UK average for First Class mail arriving on time is just 93.3%, with a company-set target of 93% at this time.

The Second Class mail target was also exceeded in the HP area, with 98.9% of mail delivered within three working days – just beating the national target of 98.5 per cent.

The results build on the company’s performance in the first quarter of 2014/15, which saw it beat First Class and Second Class targets.

Royal Mail’s Quality of Service is measured by TNS Global –and it is the only mail delivery company required to publish its performance results against national targets every quarter.
