Pupils read their way through shortlist

Students at Tring School are reading their way through the eight shortlisted books in this year's CILIP Carnegie Children's Book Award.

The shortlistfor the award, which is widely acknowledged as the most prestigious award for writers of children’s fiction was announced in March, and students have until June 20, when the winner is revealed, to read as many books as they can.

They will then write reviews and give each title a star rating in their weekly meetings with Tring School’s learning resources manager, Suzanne Watkins.

The day will culminate in the announcement of the Dacorum Carnegie winner.
