The Prince’s Trust team programme in Hemel Hempstead has just opened a tea room in the town centre and will run five more courses in the next 18 months.

The group has been running courses to support young people aged 16 to 25 and help them get out of unemployment for two years. A total 81% of people who completed them are now in education or employment.

Team leader for Joe Oxley said: “We are committed to having a lasting positive impact on the local community, and our young people have done a number of projects to support disadvantaged groups in the area. Projects we have done in the past include creating a garden for a dementia care home, producing reading books for a special needs school and delivering a campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues among young people.”
