Today's (May 6) local elections in Hertfordshire will determine which individuals are elected to represent residents of Hertfordshire as their local county councillor, local district and borough councillors, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire.

Where will the election counts take place?

Following the elections, the election counts will be undertaken at 10 count centres across Hertfordshire county, with one count centre being allocated per district.

The 10 count centres will be located across each district in Hertfordshire. The count centres will be located as follows:

Broxbourne Borough Council - Laura Trott Leisure Centre, Windmill Lane, Cheshunt, EN8 9AJ

Dacorum Borough Council - Everyone Active, St John’s Road, Hemel Hempstead

East Hertfordshire District Council - Wodson park, Wadesmill Road, Ware, Herts, SG12 0UQ

Hertsmere Borough Council - The Radlett Centre, 1 Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, Herts, WD7 8HL

North Hertfordshire District Council - North Herts Leisure Centre, Baldock Road, Letchworth, Herts, SG6 2ER

When will the County Council election counts be taking place?

Hertfordshire County Council election counts will take place on Saturday, May 8, and Hertfordshire County Council expects to know the composition of the County Council by Saturday evening.

Where can I find out the results of the election?

Results will be sent from the 10 counts as they are declared, and will be uploaded to the Hertfordshire County Council website as soon as possible.

Some residents also voted in the by-elections for two Dacorum Borough Council wards, Tring Central and Leverstock Green.

The results for both the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner and the Dacorum Borough Council by-elections are expected to be announced on Monday, May 10.

Polling stations will be safe places to vote. All the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure the elections can run in a Covid-secure way, allowing everyone to safely exercise their democratic right to vote.
