Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead supports homeless in Dacorum
Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead will be supporting the DENS Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter throughout December and January.
The charity works to support and empower people in the Dacorum district who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.
They support food banks, day centres and hostels whilst offering advice and skills development.
During December, staff from Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead are asking for donations to wear Christmas jumpers from the official Christmas jumper day, up until Christmas Eve.
The store is also asking for donations to be made for glasses repairs throughout December and January.
Staff work tirelessly to keep customer’s glasses in top condition so it’s a great way to encourage the community to give back.
Store director Shane Abbas Bhimani says “Giving back to local causes is a key part of our role in the community at Specsavers Hemel Hempstead.”
“We wanted to support a cause not only during the Christmas season of giving, but also into January when the cold weather continues and those facing poverty and homelessness need even more support.”
So far the total is £153 and is set to go up even more over the next month when it will all be donated to DENS.
Keep an eye out for the store’s exciting charitable activities over the next year in the build up to the milestone that will be 25 years of testing sight, hearing and being part of such a fantastic community.
