The EOD team were called to assess the item, which they later detonated, and confirmed was non-viable.

A cordon and road closures were put in place as a precaution while the incident was dealt with, before these were lifted around 4pm in the afternoon.

Police said the discovery was not linked to an incident in Tring on the same day, when police and the EOD team were sent to a property on Grove Road.
