People urged to be vigilant after reports of people trying car and front door handles in Hemel Hempstead

Police are investigating after reports of people trying car door handles/front doors in Leverstock Green at the weekend.

Officers received a number of reports yesterday morning (Sunday) in the vicinity of Datchworth Turn.

On the Dacorum Police Facebook page the team posted a reminder to residents to protect their vehicles. The post said: "Police are carrying out an investigation into these offences and residents are encouraged to report any similar incidents to Police on 101.

"If you have any CCTV which may aid our investigation, please contact us on Herts Police and quote HC-18042021-0148.

"Residents are reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked and secured and all items of value are removed from their vehicles."

Last week, the force urged residents to make sure they keep their vehicles secure this spring after an increase in motor vehicle crime.
