PCSO gives advice on avoiding scams and home security at community event in Hemel Hempstead

A PCSO has given advice on avoiding scams and home security during a community event in Hemel Hempstead.

Dacorum Police supervisor PCSO Simon Jackman attended a gathering of residents at Woodhall Farm Community Centre.

During the visit PCSO Jackman gave advice on home security, online safety and potential scams from door-to-door salesman and via phone calls.

In a social media post Dacorum Police said: "Community engagement is a big part of the PCSO role and they are regularly invited to attend events and meetings to give advice and allow people to discuss their concerns face to face.

"These conversations are vital for strengthening the trust between residents and local policing.

"By sharing knowledge and crime prevention, we help protect people and keep our neighbourhoods secure."

Commenting on the post, Dacorum Borough councillor Belinda Williams said: "Simon is a fabulous benefit to Woodhall Farm ward residents.

"He is extremely popular, empathetic and incredibly helpful to all - usually going the extra mile.

"I know we have often had our PCSOs moved to a different ward and I hope Simon is allowed to stay with us."
