Police and the ambulance service were called to reports of a man with a head injury in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday morning (September 26)

Officers and the ambulance service were called at 10.30am to the incident outside the Three Horseshoes pub in Winkwell.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "The ambulance service was also called and the road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

"The man was taken to hospital and enquiries were carried out to establish how the man sustained the head injury, including the possibility that he may have been involved in a collision.

"Enquiries concluded that he had suffered a medical episode and he is expected to make a full recovery."

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust transported the patient to Watford General Hospital for further care.
