Mr Voss said: “My wife and I are pleased to support this appeal, especially at this time of crisis.

"I hope my endorsement will encourage more people to donate to the appeal and support residents that are isolated and vulnerable.”

Money raised from the appeal will be used to provide grants to cover fuel and food costs, activities to reduce loneliness and isolation and to help those in need to access specialist services and community groups.

Helen Gray, foundation director for Hertfordshire Community Foundation, said: “I am delighted that Robert, HCF’s President, is supporting the appeal.

"We appreciate that 2020 has been a tough year for many but we hope that his support will inspire other local people, who are in the position to do so, to help those struggling this winter.”
