Hemel woman warns anglers against fishing on the canal after finding injured swan

A woman from Hemel Hempstead has warned fisherman on the canal to be more careful about fishing where the swans are after finding an injured swan.

The warning comes after she had to call out the Swan Rescue to help a cygnet which had pierced its tongue after swallowing a fish hook attached to some bait known as 'soft lure bait'.

She said: "Could fishermen on the canal please be more careful about fishing where swans and their families' territories are."
