An eight-year-old girl from Hemel Hempstead is the child narrator for a new book raising money for the NHS.

Hannnah Farmery was selected to be the only child narrator for the new children's book, Hope The Rainbow Fairy, published by Make Believe Ideas.

The book tells the story of a flu entering fairyland and how fairies work together to spread kindness and build community until it goes away. The money raised from the book will go to NHS Charities Together.

Claire, Hannah's mum, said: "We sent in a video of her reading and they were impressed and they asked if it could be used on the website.

"Hannah loves it, her middle name is Hope, so for her to be part of something like this that aims to give hope to so many people means a lot to her.

"She loves drama and is very confident, she really enjoyed doing it.

"When Hannah was younger she wasn't well and spent a lot of time in hospital to to be able to support the NHS in some way is great for all of us.

"You can get a hard copy of the book or an audio and there are different voices you can choose from."

The book can be bought online or downloaded, there are a number of celebrity voiceovers for the book, including Alan Carr, Anna Friel and Jonny Vegas.
