Hemel Hempstead pauses to remember

Hemel Hempstead paused to remember on Sunday November 9 as the town marked Remembrance Day.

The annual remembrance parade took its traditional route from the town centre to the War Memorial at St John's Church in Boxmoor, with more than 600 people participating.

Among the attendees were Mayor of Dacorum Cllr Catherine McArevey, Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss and Hemel Hempstead MP David Taylor.

In a post on social media Dacorum Borough Council wrote: “Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Remembrance Sunday Parade and service at the Boxmoor War Memorial.

“It was wonderful to see our community unite in such large numbers to honour those who gave their lives in the two world wars and other conflicts.”

On November 11 a short Remembrance Day service is being held at the Garden of Remembrance in the town centre, organised by the town's branch of the Royal British Legion, starting at 10.45am.
