Hemel Hempstead man's 10k weekly run to support the NHS

A man from Hemel Hempstead is running 10k every Thursday to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
Ben Jackson, whose mum and sisters work on Covid-19 wards at Watford General Hospital, wanted to support the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hide AdBen's mum, Mandy, now joins him on his 10k run around Hemel Hempstead every Thursday at 6pm.


The 35-year-old said: "I wanted to show my support to the NHS through this tough time by raising a little money.
"It’s personal to me with my mum and sisters being nurses."
Ben's sister Jade Jackson, who is a ward manager at Watford General Hospital said: "Myself, my mum and sister are all front line nurses and have been working on Covid wards.
"My brother found this to be a very challenging and worrying time, he wanted to do something to help.

"He decided to set up a giving page and run 10k every Thursday night to raise money for the NHS.
"My mum has now joined him and he runs wearing a nurses dress, so far he has raised £1,400 for the charity."
