Fundraiser passes £1,000 mark ahead of Valentine's Day run to Hemel Hempstead Hospital for NHS

A 20-year-old man is hoping to raise hundreds for the NHS when he runs a half marathon from St Albans City Hospital to Hemel Hempstead Hospital on Valentine's Day.
Greg Bishop, from Watford, is hoping to raise £1,200 for the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust charity Raise, and awareness of the work the NHS staff are doing during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hide AdHe said: "I know a lot of people that have been affected by the virus and I appreciate the NHS and what they are doing everyday.
"I think the work they do sometimes goes unnoticed, I know a few people who work for the NHS and I see the tireless work they put in, day and night.
"I want to show my appreciation by raising as much money as possible for Raise, and awareness of the NHS."
The Watford Fan will be running 13.3 miles on Sunday, February 14, he is starting at St Albans City Hospital, on to Harpenden Memorial Hospital, and finishing at Hemel Hempstead Hospital.

Hide AdRaise is the charity dedicated to supporting staff and patient care across Hemel Hempstead, St Albans City and Watford General hospitals.
Greg added: "I have enjoyed running from a young age but a few years ago I stopped to concentrate on my football.
"I have never ran this distance before, it is definitely going to be a challenge for me.
"The response I have had so far has been great and I've already raised over £1,000.
