A group of motorcycle riders from Dacorum dressed as bunnies and delivered gifts to the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust's hospitals for the Raise a Rainbow campaign on Saturday, May 1.

Dacorum Motorcycle Riders, who organise meet-ups and ride-outs in Hertfordshire and across the country, wanted to give something back to the hospital staff who have been working on the frontline throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

The riders met at Monks Inn to collect the gifts before delivering them to the Trust's charity, Raise, at Watford General Hospital.

Raise is the charity dedicated to supporting staff and patient care across Hemel Hempstead, St Albans City and Watford General hospital.

The charity's latest campaign Raise a Rainbow will help the charity work with the community in West Hertfordshire to provide some wellbeing support and spaces of sanctuary for hospital staff.

Jon Andrews, from Dacorum Motorcycle Riders, said: "The bunnies on bikes ride could not have gone any better and the amount of gifts we collected was amazing - we had two cars full of presents - and thanks to to Teresa Gurney from Dacorum Motorcycle Riders for putting the word out there and getting them to drop off point.

"We would also like to thank Clint Whitaker and his staff at Monks Inn for laying on food for us before we left and to Gavin for doing the route and dressing up as a bunny.

"The staff at Raise were great too, we would like to thank Gabriel - who we meet in Watford hospital - and his team for coming out and unloading gifts.

"And I would like to thank everyone at Dacorum Motorcycle Riders for there support, we had about 25 riders come down on Saturday, I'm truly overwhelmed with their love on this day.

"I couldn't ask for a better group of bikers.

"I'm still buzzing how well it went, and we can't wait to do it again!

"We rode around Hemel Hempstead, and we had people tooting and waving at us."
