"I’m interested in pursuing interests that I have not been able to do whilst working full-time.

"I hope to dedicate more time to voluntary and charitable work, spend time with my parents and broader family, develop a healthy lifestyle and find time to travel.

“It has been a great privilege working with my colleagues here at DBC, and an honour to serve the community.

"I will miss colleagues but am very much looking forward to a new chapter.”

Speaking about the highlights of her career at Dacorum, Sally identified working with members to establish a strong and robust financial and governance base for the council following the 2008 world financial crisis and recession, whilst also creating the financial capacity to deliver the Council’s ambitious regeneration plans for the Borough, as Director of Finance.

Becoming Chief Executive and being able to work with the Leader of the Council, members and staff to then deliver the £30m Council funded regeneration programme for Dacorum. And using this catalyst to establish a strong relationship with the business community to attract inward investment to the Borough.

Cllr Andrew Williams, leader of the council, said: “I have worked closely with Sally since 2008. Sally has a vast amount of knowledge and experience and has been a tremendous asset to the council and its communities throughout her tenure.
