Residents at a care home in Hemel Hempstead enjoyed a special afternoon tea last week as B&M care homes organised a Nutrition and Hydration week.
Staff at The Lodge Care Home, on Broad Street, had a different theme for each day as residents enjoyed last week's warm weather.
The theme for this year's Nutrition and Hydration Week (June 14, to June 20) was making a difference every day.
A spokesperson for The Lodge said: "Everyone really enjoyed hydration and nutrition week here at The Lodge, we had big breakfast Monday, snacky Tuesday, afternoon tea Wednesday, thirsty Thursday and fruity Friday.
"It is so important to stay hydrated especially in the hot weather we had recently.
"The residents really enjoyed the big breakfast Bob saying the pancakes and waffles were great."
The theme for the afternoon tea was the 'Best of British' with lots of Union Jack bunting all round, there was also homemade scones and cakes and lots of tea.
If residents did not want to join the event in the dining room, staff took it to their rooms, so no one missed out.
The spokesperson added: "We have a snack and hydration station which is always fully stocked with lots of lovely goodies, so on Tuesday we put it all on the trolley and made it mobile.
"It has been a fun week enjoying lots of different tastes and treats."
Joan, who lives at The Lodge, said: "They are really spoiling us here it was lovely, it’s been a fun week and really enjoyed the afternoon tea."
Leah, one of the care home's senior cares, said: "It’s been beneficial for our residents to understand about keeping hydrated and having a bit of fun in the process."
